She wandered where the wild dreams roam,
Through fresh farm air and honey homes
Her hands were full of summer’s gold—
Plums and peaches, ripe and bold.
Beneath a tree with branches wide,
She nestled in the shade beside,
A hare with eyes of autumn hue,
Soft and watchful, wise and true.
She broke her fruit, a gift so small,
Yet in his world, it meant it all.
A moment passed—no fear, no flight,
Two hearts at peace in golden light.
And when he turned, as hares must do,
She whispered, "Friend, I'll wait for you."
For in that space where stillness grew,
She knew the hare had known too.
